Olympiad Training Support Program 2026 – Important Information for Participating Federations

Dear Federations,

This announcement is addressed to all federations that have applied for the FIDE Olympiad Training Support Program 2026.

• Online coaches will be selected by the FIDE Trainers’ Commission (TRG).
• On-site coaches should be selected by your federation from the list which will be sent by email. If your federation has any preferences regarding the online coach, please include them in the same email when submitting your choice of the on-site coach. While TRG will make the final assignment for online coaching, we will take your preferences into consideration whenever possible.

Please note that the on-site coach will serve as the Team Captain during the Olympiad.

FIDE will cover:

• the coach’s Olympiad coaching stipend;
• the coaching fee for 10 hours of online training prior to the Olympiad.

Please note that airfare, accommodation, and other travel-related expenses of the coach (Team Captain) are the responsibility of the respective federation.

Federations are also kindly requested to ensure that the selected coach is registered as the Team Captain through the official Olympiad registration system.

Important dates:

• 15 July 2026 – Deadline for submitting your selected on-site coach (and any preferences regarding the online coach).
• 1 August 2026 – Online training sessions will commence.
